Hurry Home

Lying awake thinking of you

It helps to see the lonely night time through

You’ve been away, seems like a year

But one day is too long without you here

I know it has to be that you’re away

But I will call you up with just one thing to say:

Hurry home, hurry home

Now I know just what lonely really means

Hurry home, hurry home

Now I know just how much you mean to me

Hurry home

Tonight is so still

I turn out the light

But there won’t be a loving kiss goodnight

Then my imagination starts to play

What if you decide to stay another dayÖ

Hurry home, hurry home

Now I know just what lonely really means

Hurry home, hurry home

Now I know just how much you mean to me

Hurry home.

I know you’ve got things to do

And I don’t want to trouble you

But I just can’t stand the lonelinessÖ

Hurry home, hurry home

Now I know just what lonely really means

Hurry home, hurry home

Now I know

Just how much you mean to me

Hurry home

Hurry home

  1. I was repairing an old turntable, and to test it out I picked out an LP at random. It was a K-TEL compilation and the first track was ‘Hurry Home’. What a great pleasure to refind this great song, long forgotten by me. I noted from your website that Sarah Brightman had released it too, but never came across it over the years. Thanks for the information about ‘Wavelength” , and I hope some contemporary pop group releases the song again, to bring it to a wide audience.
